This week’s spotlight – Susan Bourne
Susan loves living in the Scottish Borders surrounded by the lanes, hedgerows, fields and woodlands where she finds her inspiration.
She loves painting wild flowers especially enjoy painting them accompanied by the bees, butterflies, beetles and the bugs, which her three enthusiastic daughters keep providing her with in good supply!
Ideally Susan tries to paint on reclaimed wood from old floorboards, doors or desk tops, worn and torn are like treasure to her – she’s always on the look out!
“In our throwaway society, there’s something rather poignant to find an artist who can use otherwise discarded materials and turn them into something unique and very beautiful”.
