This week’s spotlight – Andrew Binnie
Andrew (Drew) Binnie is a Scottish Borders artist who has exhibited widely both locally and throughout Scotland. Most of his work is in oils and the subject-matter is predominantly landscape. His inspiration comes from the ever-changing face of the gently beautiful Borders landscape.
Drew paints out of doors when the weather allows and enjoys the spontaneity of this method, but he also works from sketches in the studio, which allows a more considered approach.
Drew is a former Principal Teacher of Art and Design at Earlston High School.
"Drew's vast knowledge, from his previous life as an art teacher, shines through in his work. His use of vibrant colours show the true beauty of the Scottish Borders." Iain Loudon, Gallery Owner
