Borders Book Festival - Real Wood Studio
we have created an innovative event in collaboration with Real Wood Studios, Ancrum, Nr Jedburgh, to present a collection of exquisite bespoke furniture made in the Scottish Borders, to the thousands of visitors expected to visit Melrose for the Borders Book Festival taking place from 15-18 June, 2017.
The collection of pieces will highlight the creative use of locally grown hardwoods, through a range of handmade furniture including an elm dining table, coffee tables, side tables, a unique tall mirror, burr oak stool and coat stand as well as an individual bench. Items will be exhibited from Thursday afternoon until Sunday evening of the festival and include the work of Alasdair Wallace, Graham Murdoch, Graeme Murray, Louise Miller and Ross Ketteridge.
Alisdair Wallace has made two lecterns from Sycamore and Burr Elm that are being used during the Book Festival, and said “This as an ideal opportunity for our group to reach a wider audience by showcasing some of the creatively design bespoke furniture. At the same time we want to encourage support for local small businesses.”
The Book festival is on 15th - 18th June here in Melrose.
