"I have been painting and drawing since a boy and to this day still take great pleasure from putting paint to canvas. Painting brings me joy and I hope that you can share in this when viewing my paintings throughout this site.
I was born in 1940 in the village of Felton, in Northumberland and lived there until I married in 1966. After which my wife and I moved to Ashington and started a family.
Having grown up in the Northumbria countryside, in the early years this is where I drew inspiration for my paintings and produced mainly landscapes of this beautiful county.
Now that I am retired my work has greater variation and inspiration comes from many different areas, particularly my travels through Europe. I enjoy painting figurative pieces, portraying people in everyday situations such as cafes, train stations and on the beach.
I paint exclusively in oils and I like the feel of the paint and the way I can push it around on canvas
and board. "
