Although I grew up in County Durham, I have lived in Scotland most of my life and in the Scottish Borders for over twenty years. I only started painting seriously following retirement five years ago, after a long career as a nurse and lecturer.
I use a range of media (but mainly acrylics) to portray landscapes and seascapes which are largely drawn from imagination, but with inspiration of course from our beautiful countryside!
My other area of interest, that requires a very different level of attention to detail, is creating images of animals and wildlife in pastel. I do most of my painting with Tweedbank art club, or in a cabin in my garden.
