I took an interest in Art from a very young age. Friends and family tell me my textbooks were empty, but the covers were beautifully painted and decorated. I was more at home in the Art department than anywhere else in the school. This love of the Arts continued throughout my Nurses training in Edinburgh – where I found myself spending more time in art galleries than in the lecture theatre.
Marriage and motherhood did nothing to lessen my enthusiasm and, in 2014, I took a leap of faith and concentrated on my painting full-time. Now I am enjoying the daily challenge of devoting my time to a profession I love. I try not to be afraid of failure and approach each work I undertake with vigour and passion, not restricting myself to one medium.
