Elizabeth McCrindle

A mostly self-taught Scottish artist based in East Ayrshire, I’m inspired by the ever changing countryside and it’s inhabitants. Almost every morning you’ll find me walking the dogs and soaking up the atmosphere around me. Big skies, sweeping fields of corn, the way the light hits a corner of wild flowers. And the animals, horses, dogs, cattle sheep all with their own personalities have found their way to my easel. The glint of an eye, a soft nose begging to be stroked, muscle tone and the way light plays with the texture of their coats, from smooth and silky to curly wurly.
I’ve been a full time artist since 1996, after spending twenty something years in the design studio of BMK as a hand trialist. I’ve been lucky to have exhibited successfully in many Scottish galleries. Numerous commissions have also come my way painting many horses and dogs, including some well known racehorses.
I have exhibited in many one man and group exhibitions including:- The Dick Institute, The Glasgow Vennel, Maclaurin Galleries, Rozelle House, Pitclochry Festival Theatre, The Atholl Gallery, Equus Gallery, Newmarket, Alaistair Anderson Gallery, Fraoch Fine Arts, The Framework Gallery, Scotlandart.com, The One Off Gallery, The Annan Gallery, The Aberfeldy Gallery, The Red Rag Gallery, The Waverly Gallery, The Torrance Gallery, The Jerdan Gallery, Southside Art and The Gatehouse Gallery. My work can be found in private collections throughout the UK and in Northern Ireland, USA, Mexico, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. I work mainly in Acrylics, Oils and Mixed Media.
